Cohiba Behike Cigars
First introduced to the UK in 1984, Cohiba Behikes are considered by most aficionados to be the very finest Cuban cigars for sale anywhere in the world.
The Behike is distinguished by the addition of a fourth leaf in the filler- the medio tempo. This leaf is very hard to source, it is only found at the very top of the very finest sun grown tobacco plants. The larger ring gauges of the Cohiba Behike range enable this extra leaf to be incorporated in the cigars. Indeed the difficulty in producing this leaf has led to significant shortages of Cohiba Behikes or BHKs in recent years.
Cohiba is the ancient Taino Indian (Cuba’s original inhabitants) word for the rolling up and smoking of leaves during a religious service. Fittingly, Behike is the name for the priests who performed the ceremony.
